Learn to Ride

Kids Bike Club

We currently run sessions on a Sunday and Monday for children learning to cycle.

Our coaches aim to make all children feel welcome, confident and included. Children will develop skills in their own time, so our sessions are not limited to a specific number per child, although we may advise that children get extra practice in when they can.

Initially children start with balancing activity together with using brakes, controlling and steering the bike. Once the coaches see balancing as having progressed sufficiently, they will start to introduce skills to work towards pedalling, pushing off and stopping the bike.

The Sunday Kids Bike Club is suitable for children age 3 and upwards. Sessions run weekly at 9am and 10am. Each session lasts for 45 minutes.

Sunday sessions are booked individually on the website.

We also offer after school Learn to Ride on a Monday from 3.30-4.30pm for primary age children (and older). These smaller group classes are also suitable for children with some additional support needs.

Classes are held indoors until Spring and we will gradually use outdoor space once the weather improves.

We have bikes and helmets available to use and we can advise on a suitable size bike for your child once they are pedalling.

Sunday Kids Bike Club sessions are 45 minutes for £5.50, payment is made in advance when booking.

The cost of the Monday Learn to Ride block is £33 for the initial block of four consecutive lessons followed by £8 per hour if the child requires any additional lessons. Payment is made online at the time of booking.

Adult Cycling Skills

Drumchapel Cycle Hub offer group cycling instruction for adults, from complete beginners or returning to cycling and looking to improve skills.

Sessions are weekdays on Monday from 10-11am and Wednesday 12.30-1.30pm.

Please note that the Wednesday session won't run through July due to our Kids Summer Holiday programme.

We have bikes suitable for all sizes or you can use your own. We will also ensure that your own bike is safety checked, repaired if necessary and set up correctly for you. We can also advise about suitable bikes if you are interested in purchasing a new bike.
